The Texas Virtual School is looking for Texas Certified Teachers and mentors for online students. Specialty areas include:

  • Social Studies
  • Business
  • AP Courses
  • Health and PE
To be considered as an online instructor, applicants must supply the following documents and complete the following training:
  1. Cover letter documenting an interest in the program
  2. Resume or professional vita of teaching experience
  3. Three references with contact information for each
  4. Copy of your current Texas Teaching Certificate
  5. Background Check release form (signed and mailed to address below)
    Contract may be negated based on the results of this check
  6. Copy of proof of WICC I authorized training certificate (see below)

Potential teachers are required to complete Part I of the Web Instructor's Certification Course before contracts are issued. The cost of this training is $500.00 per session. (Note: This is a Region 4 certification of completion, not a state mandated certification for teaching online.)

Teachers selected will work under a personal contract and paid on a per student/per semester basis.

To be considered as a school mentor (liaison) for an online student, applicants should complete the Liaisonics training. Please note that this is not a paid position and subject to the student's school approval.
